Project Overview

The Wikied Analysis Framework for Foreign Language Exploration (WAFFLE) project will provide linguists with a framework, interface, and a set of analytical tools for a knowledge base. Linguistic data will be assimilated both via already available open source tools and a wiki interface that gives users the ability to augment and alter a variety of data. Analysis and visualization tools will use various algorithms, some of them graph algorithms. Visualization tools will be offered for traversing and analyzing graphs whose nodes represent words of several natural languages and whose edges represent various kinds of relationships between words.
